I have been taking private lessons since April 2024, it is now August 2024. I have some experience with tying knots for a hobby but that did not mean that I knew anything about how to di Shibari. deGiotto has a great system in place for starting with a new student and progressing to the point that they can suspend safely. Also, he teaches great things like, flow, tension control, safety, pertinent anatomy, and how to communicate with and take care of your rope model.

I highly recommend deGiotto for serious students.

deGiotto is always available to answer questions even outside of class via text, this is helpful when I get stuck while practicing and need some advice.

For suspensions, you would need to purchase more rope or one of the suspension kits which are available on the website.

i recently purchased a 300 foot spool of red hemp that came ready to be cut to size and used. it is absolutely everything I could have hoped for. Both my bottom and myself love the feel of it and the high performance of the rope. We do lots of dynamic ties and we both feel extremely safe with the product.
